New York (May 18, 2000) - Kaplan Medical, the medical preparation unit of Kaplan, Inc., a leading provider of educational and career services, and PDAMD.com, the leading online resource for users of mobile and wireless technology in health care, today introduce free down-loadable PalmTM applications for individuals studying for the US Medical Licensing (USMLE) Step 1 exam. The USMLE PalmTM applications are the first of the new Kaplan Medical "to go" series, available on kaplanmedical.com, the new, easy to find, easy-to-use, medical education Web site.

Qbank "to go" allows students to "test drive" 100 Qbank items on their PalmTMs, as well as review the comprehensive explanations. The new Pharm Deck "to go" flashcards allow medical students to review 200 of the most-likely-to-be-tested drugs for the USMLE Step 1 exam. Both products are available, for free, to busy medical students to prep for the Step 1 exam anytime, anywhere. This is the first and only test prep product available for the PalmTM.

"Kaplan Medical's new "to go " series offers a revolutionary new test prep option using popular, convenient technology," said Rochelle Rothstein, MD, Vice President of Kaplan Medical. "Our mission is to continue to provide services in formats that take advantage of the latest technology. Our new web site, online courses, and PalmTM applications are evidence of that commitment."

"Medical students and physicians have joined the swell of faithful PDA users," said Doug MacMahon, PDAMD.com's Vice President of Business Development. "We are thrilled to partner with Kaplan Medical to provide their nationally-recognized content through the incredible information management power of PalmTM devices, creating an easy solution for busy med students studying for an essential medical Boards exam."

The Qbank "to go" questions are from Kaplan Medical's Qbank. Offered online since February, the Step 1 Qbank is a one-of-a-kind offering that lets students customize their own USMLE-style practice tests. The success of the USMLE Qbank, with over 1000 users since launch, demonstrates the demand for high-quality, exam-style practice questions from medical students and physicians round the world.

"By adding USMLE review materials to the list of medical programs available for PalmTMs, Kaplan Medical is demonstrating its innovate spirit and close connection to the pulse of the medical community," said Trent Anderson, Kaplan Vice President and Publisher. "We are giving med students and professionals what they need, in a usable and fresh format."
